Would like to take a minute and introduce ourselves. We been in Arizona for a few years, but just got our boat relocated so the clock starts now. We would love to hear from fellow boaters about the opportunities near us. We are located in Cave Creek which is right between Bartlet Lake and Lake Pleasant. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from all of you.

Kismet, welcome aboard CSR. We live in WA but have a place in Sun City West (God's waiting room!) and we keep a 13' Boston Whaler down there to play with. Thus far we've only had it on Lake Pleasant and we usually go out there several times during the winter months. Here's a link to a thread on our last trip down there in this past February..... http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/77016-A-good-day-on-the-water?highlight=Pleasant

Our boat is easily trailerable so we have plans to take it to Bartlett, Saguaro, Roosevelt, up to Lake Mead and possibly Havasu. Lots of places to boat down there.

Lake Pleasant is a great place to keep a boat. Yeah, it's not big, but there are many places to explore and places to drop the hook for a restful few hours.

If you have any specific questions about the lake, give me a shot via PM..

BTW, the Cave Creek/Carefree area is one of our favorite places to hang out. The Hideaway has almost become our home away from home. Cold beer, great pizza--doesn't get much better than that.

I had my 270 dancer at Lake Pleasant and Bartlett over.
Lake pleasant has over 100 miles of shoreline but no beaches I'm aware of. Pretty big lake. Bartlett is much smaller, 12 miles long when full. A Number of beaches.
2 Marinas on Pleasant seem to be keeping the slip fees under control.
Going to be making an offer on a 89 340 DB next week and will be putting it at Pleasant Harbor. Based on slip fees

twin, Lake P has a few beaches on the north west end. They're not sandy beaches but small gravel. Here are a couple of photos. The first one is a more traditional beach where the people are camping. The second one is more rocky and we pulled in there so I could download a full bladder. :smt101

Thanks for all the input. We will be there and flooring on the hook in a few weeks. Still have a shake down list I would like to finish up on.

We have a 2006 340 at Scorpion Bay. In my opinion much nicer than Pleasant Harbor. It is smaller, better service. Troon just purchased and is doing a lot of upgrades. Lake Pleasant is much larger than the other lakes around the city. For us only a 15 min drive. As others have said, if you have any questions let me know. JP

Rocky is the issue. No place I would beach a large boat. Pleasant requires anchoring out and a dinghy. Bartlett is a much smaller lake but has a couple of nice sandy beaches. Personal choice. I'm going to pleasant as the bigger lake. The dogs will need to get used to the dinghy. :{)

I heard they had new owners. Didn't know who would be running it. I hear Chis is still the guy on site. I agree Scorpion Bay is the newer and nicer Marina. Much better parking situation a well. However Far more expensive. I chose pleasant harbor on price alone. Imagine my suprise when I found out Dillons had relocated to Pleasant harbor. I'm told they had no issue with Scorpion Bay but Pleasant Harbor offered a much larger facility. Love their food and service.

Ahhh, another Mike who's a boater. We used to make a stop at Dillons part of our regular boating day. Nachos and a cold beer were a great way to end the day. Then a short trip across the lake to the boat ramp and we were done for the day.

Now that they've relocated to Pleasant Harbor it's an even shorter trip at the end of the day.

Life is good!

Kismet, welcome to CSR. I grew up in PHX. and enjoyed Canyon, Apache , and Roosevelt lakes. They all have marinas, sandy beaches and lots of scenery. They aren't as close as pleasant ,but worth the extra miles. Enjoy. Steve

You could always drop the anchor a ways off shore and back in towards shore and do a stern tie.

And that is how its done! Not your first Rodeo?

I always just picked a cove down the river and anchored out. didn't have the big dogs then.
