has anyone tried this stuff on gelcoat yet?
as the sun is inevitably trying to reoxidize my hardwork I did restoring the red on my 22 I'm wondering If spraying this stuff on the side of the hull would be a nice easy fix to avoid any rebuffing in the spring while the boat sits all winter. looks like a cool product just unsure how well it works and well...if it works on gel i.e. will it stick or worse will it stick too much.

I'm assuming you have gelcoat and not paint .... process is pretty much the same but paint is much thinner but the key is to polish the surface using consistently finer polishes till all the oxidation is gone ... some people don't realize their hard work ending with a shiny haze (cloudiness) will be nice and shiny for only a month ot two before the dead gelcoat/paint absorbs the wax and their back to square one.

If you polished the surface to a CLEAR SHINE, use a wax with a sealer or a separate sealing product. I prefer Mother's Paste Wax followed by a Hard "Liquid wax" which a sealant that will help with those pesky water marks if you don't keep all the water wiped off in the sun.

Jennifer with Nautical Detailing in New Smyrna, Florida is among THE BEST detailers I have known and her work SHOWS her experience. Have seen several boats that she maintains, but her recommendation is do it right the first time and do the maintenance every three months till the shine refuses to reappear with the maintenance then the process starts all over again.
