I replaced my Pro Mariner 50 amp charger with a new Pro Mariner Pronautic 1250 C3, (pro mariner was very helpful in confirming the selection of the new charger) I have an orange wire comning off one of the banks that I can not trace where it goes. The other two banks go to the batteries. This wiring setup has been that way for the life of the boat. I wired the new charger the same way and all works well. I have talked to Pro Mariner about it and they do not know what the orange wire might be for either.

Any thoughts

Are you saying the orange wire is directly connected to one of the battery banks? If so, then it might be a 'memory' wire - ie. runs straight to the stereo head to preserve radio settings when the battery switch is off.
