Hi all, I have a 2010 sundancer. Does anyone know which is the house battery and which is the engine/start battery? My switch has 1, both, 2 and off. When I’m anchored I switch it to the one position and every couple hours I start the boat and let it run for 10 mins to charge the battery. But last week I decided to use the two position. After 2 hours I went to start it and it clicked a few times before finally turning over. There was also low voltage warning indicator that was displayed. I left it running for about 15 mins and moved the switch to both. I shut it off then restarted it and the code cleared. The manual doesn’t say much about the battery switch and how to use it. I always turn the switch to off when leaving even though it’s connected to shore power.

Why not turn on your cabin lights and see which switch position turns them off?

Most chargers are hooked directly to the batteries so the switch position does not matter.
Only you can determine how the batteries are hooked up and even IF you have a house system.
If you used position 1 and it worked ok for that day and then used number 2 position and it didnt, that could mean #2 might be bad.
And NEVER be on both/all except for emergency starting

Yup. Got it. Thanks

Once you figure out which is the main and whish is the house, Id suggest a good deep-cycle or two that can supply the needed anchor time. I hate to see people idle and engine while at anchor. Huge Co danger.

Understood. I usually run the engine every couple hrs for 5 mins to do a quick charge
