Bump button for outdrive

That's a cheap used SS 17" prop from Ebay which replaced my 19" High Five. Pulled harder and my top end was still at or just below 50mph. With the dirty hull, I maxed at about 5100 rpm, never honking the 5150 overrev horn, let alone the 5200 rev limiter. Cheap because there was cement film all over it that had to be rotary wire brushed away. The skeg repair looks good but I hadn't scrapped that much off and imagine the boat will still wander at low rpm.
Incidentally, is the ski pylon still attached to your boat or buried in a young victim's forehead? Has the boat sunk yet as a result of the holes you drilled in it to mount the useless trim tabs? Happy New Year!

Add smart tabs and your low-speed wander will be eliminated.

"Has the boat sunk yet as a result of the holes you drilled in it to mount the useless trim tabs?"

Some never cease to amaze.......

Arminius, you come up with some wacky things sometimes, but hey if it works for you then that's what matters.
Skeg guard looks good, I would only use one of those if the skeg were broken. To me, those things shout that there is damage underneath. But things do happen. On a newer boat I would fix it properly by welding on a new skeg, on a 24yr old boat I would do the skeg guard and keep boating!

PO of my boat put one on because of a small chunk broke off the tip of the original skeg. The skegguard held water, and the skeg was really pitted from galvanic corrosion. I would not sue one

Danger: The red illuminated light on my bump button depleted the battery. I thought it was an innocuous little LED. I removed the light leaving the button in place. The new battery maintainer is a NoCo Genius with automatic desulphating. I'm no genius but the warning light alerted me to an unexpected drain.

I would leave welding aluminum to a pro. High thermal conductivity and a low melting point can produce unexpected results. I had a chunk on the table of a milling machine and it suddenly turned into a puddle, like a melted cube of butter. As to corrosion, you could always put in a drain hole but I won't be in salt water. Worse things will probably happen first.

That is a damn shame. Hopefully this didn’t kill the battery.

Thank you. Down to 2 volts and a year old. I'll have the Marina heft a new on if it seems weak. Glad to have found the issue. Chinese manufacturing is different from ours

I had suggested the bump button so it was incumbent upon me to identify a resulting starting issue.

Just have it fixed right and I never leave my batteries in my boat over the winter for storage they're always in my garage where it's 20° and warmer on a charger

I understand the remote trim switch but that means you must leave batteries in the boat for the winter when it gets to zero or below zero it's not good on the batteries
