Chart Plotters? SI-Tex? Opinions?

My Standard Horizon CP180i screen has taken a turn for the worse. The screen is no longer sharp and is getting worse. It is not worth repairing IMO. I am looking for a replacement GPS chartplotter with navigation maps and built in GPS antenna. I do not need or want sonar or another depth transducer. My other electronics are dated and i am not looking to upgrade. I just want a decent chartplotter, and an 8" screen is plenty sufficient.

I am looking for opinions of anyone using the Si-Tex SVS line of chartplotters. I see BOE has the SVS-880C which seems like it will do what i want at a decent price point. Opinions?

Any other makes or models you suggest i consider?

I know you said you don't need a large screen or a transducer, but this raymarine element 12" is on sale for $800 right now. (no affiliation, I've just been searching recently)

That is a heck of a price on the Raymarine Element 9S. Has a lot more functions than i want. Problem is there is no tool that i can find that does a straight up comparison between GPS units, and i am leaning towards trying to find something similar in functionality to what i have.

I am still looking for any personal opinions on Si-Tex.

Sorry, I’ve never heard of si-tex.

Do they have any support groups online? Maybe ask at a specific group for the brand.
