Coolant pressure cap

I want to change the coolant pressure cap on my closed coolant system. A quick search of Mercruiser parts lookup found item #8148791. After a few searches, the average price for the mercury part was around $40.00. To me it looks like an 16#automotive radiator cap. Is there any reason an automotive cap can not be used?

You might want to try NAPA some parts will cross over.

Thanks, I just went to the NAPA website. It looks like the cap that fits my tractor will also fit my boat and it list for $9.00.
