I recently bought a 1999 260 DA, I know the engine has been rebuilt, but I noticed the other day that the outdrive has a “diesel” sticker on it. Mine runs on gasoline. So I’m assuming the outdrive has been replaced at some point as well. Question is......
Is the gearing ona diesel outdrive different that that of a gasoline engine?
I’m only getting 4000 rpm at WOT and think I need to answer this question before looking at changing prop to lower pitch.
