Does anyone leave their boat in the water during the summer months? (Fresh water. Not saltwater)

Is there anything to look out for? Is it hard to clean at the end of the season?

The marina I’m looking that mentioned just leaving the boat in the water all summer.

Many of us have seasonal slips. Makes using the boat as simple as driving to the marina and jumping on. Many have bottom paint to keep the hull clean. But on smaller boats you can just power wash/acid wash the bottom. Make sure your bilge pump works and you should be Fine.

With no bottom paint it'll get green pretty quick. If you have some shallow sandy areas near you, anchor and scrub the bottom yourself every few weeks. The year I had my 277cc Cobia in the water, I had the rack storage forklift operator pick mine up and set it on an outside work rack and I'd spend a couple of hours cleaning it monthly. I had a detail company acid wash it when I pulled it out for the winter. I'm looking at swapping boats this year and will likely end up with a boat without bottom paint. I will hopefully paint the bottom before I splash it. I'm figuring it'll be too big for the rack storage equipment to pick up.

We leave our boat in the water all summer. We are at a yacht club on Lake Mich and it’s nice to be able to jump on the boat at any time. Every spring we touch up the hull with bottom paint, then in the fall pressure wash and the crap comes off pretty easy.

Is it a clear coat?

I'll use vc17m (black). It is copper colored going on. Water turns it black. This is initial color. Second picture was coming out this fall.

I'm a little bigger but, I leave the boat in year round. Come out for a week in spring to get cleaned up then back in. I was the same with my 30', except got hauled out for the winter. I would definitely paint the bottom if you decide to stay in for the season. Maybe an extra bilge pump as an emergency back up, set a little higher up then the main one. I think you will love just going to the boat and jumping in.
