Just thought I would share my holiday start experience.

I got to the boat Thursday afternoon and the toilet would not flush. Holding water. It had just worked the previous Sunday when we pumped out and treated. It was acting like it was plugged up so I plunged it several times to no avail. So I took the hose off coming from the toilet to the vacuum generator. Used my shop vac and was able to pull water from the toilet... not plugged up there.
So I tear into the system looking for the smoking gun. Duck bills have never been changed in this 15 year old boat. They looked warn but not destroyed. The last one I got to was the worst. Cleaned everything up and installed the only three bills I had... needed four. So I picked the best one out of the used ones and put it all back together.
It worked great! I could now leave the dock and enjoy the holiday weekend!
I later got a spare from a friend but have yet to install it... maybe this weekend.

I don’t envy you. It’s a dirty job but you should be good for a long time now.

On what model boat? We are thinking we need to replace then on our 93 330 DA, but not sure what size or they are located exactly.

This opens up a story about Duck bill replacement. I filled out a work order to replace the duck bills on my boat at the marina. The next weekend I turned the system on to find out it kept running. Called the marina repair person down to the boat. They said they checked the duck bills, and they were fine, so they cleaned the toilet. I said the order was to replace the duck bills. They agreed. So, the following weekend I was heading ot with the boat. while away from the dock in flushing the toilet the pedal broke off so no toilet. After arriving back in port, I checked to see what happened to the toilet. Ok, here we go again well we took the toilet apart and cleaned it again to fix the problem.
I said now the toilet needs completely rebuilt and the duck bill's still have not been replaced. I was told by the marina no kit available for the toilet so it will cost me $500 for a new toilet. I located a complete overhaul kit for $110 and rebuilt the toilet. I then handed the marina manager the parts bill to prove it was rebuilt. They did finally replace the duck bills and charged me to do it. No charge for the other work and no reimbursement for the toilet parts.

2007 310 DA and they are 2". These are located on the input side of the pump (2) and the output side (2). It all depends on your system and pump though.

Quite the right of passage....did mine early this summer. Had a weird issue with bellows, redid them again....and yet a 3rd time when it still wasn't perfect. Yeah by the 3rd time I wasn't even wearing gloves.
