Hey Gang! Upon putting the boat in the water this year, the engine hatch began opening and closing on its own. I was told that the EIM board has failed and that Sea Ray discontinued and also stop servicing them due to bad design. Looking for an alternative to get on the water. Any advice or direction is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You will need to determine if it is really is the EIM or the Switchpad that failed. The links above will bring you to a replacement keypad but if the EIM is bad that will not help. More than likely the item that will fail is the switch pad. The switchpad basically just sends a command to the EIM which acts as a relay. They were not a particularly bad design but the problem was more about the lack of replacement parts.

I just purchased and installed a new EIM system for my 2003 Sundancer 280. It’s made by Kinequip, can only be purchased through Sea Ray dealers, and is warrantees for 5 years. Unit is truly plug and play. A bit pricey - but we’ll worth it when looking at the other alternatives out there.
