there's a reason I stay in the Newbie lounge. I didn't know how to throttle without engaging the prop. so the engine would of course cut off when I pushed stick forward. After learning how to use the throttle only the engine started running. We added 2 bottle of Sea Foam and now it starts right up. I think I may have cooked the impeller because the engine started to over heat and I didn't see any water or antifreeze coming out of the sterndrive. We did have the muffs on and water running the entire time. But that discussion is in a new post I started.
