I'm also a retired LEO so covered under the LEOSA laws. In theory I'm able to carry in every state but I certainly would avoid NY and NJ.
Them right coasters don't go no sense of huma when it comes to guns.
I've also been shot at (guy had a 12guage) so I know what that feels like. I introduced him to my "One and Done" program. That put a quick end to whatever it was he had in mind.
You shouldn’t have a problem in NY or NJ if you have proof that you, and what you’re carrying, qualify under the LEOSA on you.
The only two things you should avoid are:
1. Hollow points in NJ where they are illegal.
2. Magazine with capacity of more than 10 rounds in NY where that are illegal except for active “Police Officers” from agencies inside NYS, or retirees from those same agencies if they possessed those magazines before they retired and continue to qualify with them.
