First boat ride of 2023. Perfect weather

Other than the several day cold front we had the weather has been pretty mild for us. So much so I keep asking myself if I winterized too early. So with the boating group together last night we talked about going for a boat ride today to start the year off right!

Opened 4 seacocks, took off the engine vent covers and off we went. Water was supposedly around 35* but the heaters worked just fine and kept us plenty warm. Bright sunshine, heaters on and close to 60*. Perfect boating day for January 1.

Sunny and 47 for next weekend. Maybe I’ll go for another cruise.

We did the same thing, although we did not de-winterize. 70 degrees here today and a 4 hour boat ride. Hope the rest of winter is like this, not last week.

We just got back from going to lunch on the dinghy. 7-8 miles, was delightful.
