Fuel burn on mercruiser engines

For what it's worth, I found a web site that seems to be useful. It's www.boat-fuel-economy.com. I have flow scans that, when working, confirm that the charts at this site are very close. Like I said, for what it's worth. Also, thanks to nickdj7 and Ididntdoit for the info on GenIV Mercruisers.
 
That's a cool site, just checked it on my engine and it's pretty comparable as well.
 
I somehow came across this website earlier this year while shopping for a boat. Great info you just can't get from most people or websites. While seatrialing a few boats I popped this open and ran numbers. Amazing differences between engine brands and fuel burn at speeds. I was hot to buy a set up of twin 8.1's. I purchased twin 350 mags, after crunching numbers on speed and fuel consumption. While not that vastly different, it was nice to know. Go to this site and submit your consumption where asked on the page, great info!
