Fuel mixture screw adjustment

I'm attempting to adjust my fuel mixture screw. The manual says after seating the screws back out 1 1/4 turns. My question is a turn is 180-degs or 360-degs?

That's an approx. adj. and a starting point. Fiddle with it for best highest idle then adjust linkage for correct idle rpm.

360, and agree, fiddle til it's right. I don't miss those carb days...

Where do I look up the correct idle rpm for my 1988 5.7L Mercs?

750 is about average ,higher than that and you will have difficultly shifting out of gear
