I will report back and let you know…but yea I’m thinking the sameYeah, it will be $6.50 tomorrow.
Funny how that has changed. Today you could probably squeeze that much hp from 3.5L V6 turbo and get 30 mpg in normal driving.I had a 69 Chevelle with a 650HP 454 that I drag raced. 12.5:1 compression and had to run 110 octane. Back in the mid 90's it was about $4/gallon. Drove it to a local cruise joint about 8 miles from my house and went through about $20 in fuel round trip...lol. Today that would probably be about $50 for 16 miles....lol
Just paid 4.75 boat gas, just now. On way to marina I paid 4.79 car gas. Weird.
We are definitely in unknown territory.I was at a station with E-free rec gas at 90 octane that was twenty cents cheaper than 87 pump gas, that was great while it lasted, then the next station tank fill it was back to higher than 93 pump gas. That is the likely explanation, the gas prices are rising so fast that odd pricing is occurring now and then.
My older brother told me around here, they posted prices for 1/2 gallon back when it went over $1.00 and the pumps didn’t have space for the extra digit.I certainly hope they are satisfied. It's not like its a surprise. Everything done in the past year and a half was PROMISED ahead of time.
Remember back when gas was 99c a gallon, and the stations were trying to figure out how to make the pumps record $1.01 and up? My local station just decided to be proactive and they reprogrammed the pumps with an additional dollar digit.
Maybe there is some good news in all of this. Maybe all the inexperienced covid people that bought new boats won't be out this year, and the waters will be safer and less crowded.
Gas is low to mid 4s in Ga
Deisel is over 5
Scared to look at the marina pumps while there the last few days
We get a 10% discount at the marina
Marina just went up 13.2% this past March
Just got my monthly hull dive bill and they are up 25%. $5 from $4/ft
Marina keeps changing the rules, now they (the CSRs idea-gets a slip commision for temps and transients) want to charge me $50/night for keeping my 23 Bay in an already empty slip (to avoid dropping/picking everyday). Of which there are many every visit...which I won't do.
I've purchased 5-7K of fuel with them in the last year or so, all three boats, they have lost all future fuel purchases from me. Not even ice. I'll pay full price to spite them and the marina CSR can watch me go across the river to that fuel dock. Easily $800-$2000 each time depending on how long we're out. 500G cap. Maybe she'll ask me one time "why" and I can tell her.
That being said, we looked at a dozen marinas in the last couple of weeks, and ours really ain't that bad....long as I stay away from the CSR, who is looking to make trouble. Was "talked to" twice this W/E, one comment about me rescrewing the center dock board to eliminate a trip hazard- which I have been doing since we got there-'cause they ain't , another questioning why I was running my engines intermittently for long periods yesterday. I asked if there was an issue, so said no, just wondering. As if it's her biz. I told her I just spent $3500 on repairs and needed to check it out. She knew that, the Cat guy logged in at both visits. I'm keeping notes to see if a pattern is developing since our little fall out (she got butt hurt because I dealt with the Marina Mgr. Drama queen) She's been on our dock more times in our last 3 trips than I have ever seen. I lay low.
Looks like everyone's going for the grab at our worst point in the economy.
So we're gonna just sit tight and see.
We where at $6.10 for the same stuff. 93 Valvetec. That's street price right now. My guess is we'll seen a $1 increase shortly.Yesterday at Lake Hopatcong NJ
