Generator issues

It is with great sadness we have to announce our 8kw Westerbeak diesel generator has departed this world. After 2 attempts at reviving her, she was sadly pronounced deceased. So we need a replacement. Let us know if you know of any.
We are on the mississippi coast and willing to drive a bit for the right replacement. Thanks in advance.

Consider a Northern Lights. Regarded as well-built, reliable, and easy to service. Often chosen for cruising boats. Not sure what your load needs are; they have 6kW and 9kW models.

From my perspective your boat is wired to operate a diesel Westerbeke which is a very good genset. From that aspect I'd reinstall another but with the optional sound enclosure. The wiring specific to the boat isn't incidental; not only the prime and start circuits are there but also it is integrated into the fire suppression system. The only other one I have experience with and find a very good quality is Onan eQD series. I have about 6000 hours on my Onan and the only issue it has had is in the fuel supply system which isn't really a fault of the genset.
