GG Schmitt Ladder company, no longer sells to public? WTF?

Guys, anyone here have a contact at GG Schmitt? I know they have been highly thought of for their warranty and customer service in the past. I have a friend trying to fix the ladder on a 380 DA and a 320 DA and they are telling him on the ohone to contact the builder of the boat they only sell to boat builders which is BS. Advice?

As someone who has SR as a customer......that is exactly the right thing for them to say. SR has exclusive relationships with most of its build suppliers except Mercruiser and they dictate the terms if you want to sell them your product.

Most of the time once the build date goes beyond 10 years......the rules are relaxed and you can sell your product directly to the general public. Any warranty related work has to go through a SR or Marine Max dealer.

Took mine to a local powder coater and they stripped and did fantastic job. About 100

I assume their sale is over now but I scored a $450 ladder for less than $200 with some other discount that they applied.
