I hope all the dads have a great day today, whether it be on the water or not!

No boating today :smt009 the wind is up and I'm still very new at handling twins and 30'. Fathers day will be spent here on land

It was supposed to be crappy here today, but it's actually beautiful. Lucky...as we're off to watch my grandson play in a soccer tournament. May not be on the water, but a great father's day just the same!

Have a great one guys!

Thanks for the wishes for a happy FD. I'm sitting on the boat right now. Yesterday was our club's annual Margaritaville Party and it's always fun. We brought the boat the ~11 miles upriver to the club on Wednesday morning, bringing it early because it was a nice day and the weather was cooperating.

I came down to the boat on Friday morning and spent the day putzing around, cleaning, storing stuff and just generally having fun. Friday night was the regular Friday BBQ and I enjoyed my steak and some Copper River Salmon that some friends shared with me. If you've never tasted Copper River Salmon you've missed out on the finest salmon ever!!

Saturday morning was spent walking the docks, eating breakfast on a friend's boat, and just saying hello to everyone. Unlike some past years, the weather was fantastic. Temps in the 80's, a nice gentle breeze all day, very few clouds...darn near perfect. The party started up around 1:00 and a good time was had by all. All the boats on two adjacent docks serve food, there's free margaritas, good company, and lots of eye candy to admire. We served teriyaki wings (GW's specialty) and I served up some Brats that I'd boiled in beer and onions, then finished on the grill. I cut them in 1" chunks and each had a toothpick to grab it with then dip it in the melted cheese/salsa mix. The Brats were popular and every bit was gone in no time. GW and I finally returned to the boat around 10:00 and hit the sack.

Speaking of the sack, she's still in there as I type this at 8:45. I got up around 7:30 and put on a pot of java. We'll hang out here and walk the docks for most of the day, then at 5:00 there's a Father's Day Dinner. Unlike in years past where the dinners were prepared by the gals in the club, this one is being catered so it should be excellent. We probably won't take the boat back this evening--we'll save that for Monday or Tuesday. It's a little breezy today and there's no rush.

Can a Father's Day Weekend get any better than this? I don't think so.

I'm blessed to have my two girls. They both made me very thoughtful fathers day cards with pictures of all my favorite things as seen through their eyes. They love the boat and never complain we have been out too long and always behave on the water. My older daughter handles lines and takes the helm if I have a fish on. Her younger sister always notices the things I usually miss like the eagles or the giant gar swimming past the boat. I'm so proud of them both and they continue to exceed my expectations.

Happy father's day to all. My oldest became legal to drive a boat in Nebraska by being 14 and having taken a boat safety class. It was kind of fun taking the course with her. She is academically very competitive, so we had the "youth vs. experience" battle. I read the damn book three times - and won one for the old guard. Aced the test and she scored a 90%. She's had a lot of fun tooling around on light traffic days.

Spent yesterday with my Dad and one of my brothers staying overnight. Now on my way to the US Open! Not a bad weekend!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads.

We spent the weekend on the boat, but will go home for all the family to come over.

Have a great day to all.
