Hatch lift circuit breaker on 2007 Sundancer 310

I have a 2007 Sundancer 310 and over the weekend I had a problem with the engine hatch lift not closing. Upon checking the manual, I learned that the Hatch Lift circuit breaker is in the engine compartment! What if the circuit breaker had popped when the hatch was down? Is there any way (short of a can opener) to get into the engine compartment if this happens?
This could be a a safety issue!
