Having trouble understanding current events

Apparently you do not believe judge Berman. Take it up with her.
The judge did not side with Trump that they are his documents. The judge ruled a special masters can view the documents and separate any documents that are Trumps and what belongs to the people. The President also can't change an agency created document that is classified, the law is very clear on that.

He is a lost cause, so eaten up with TDS that logic escapes him…
Your love of Trump has blinded you to the law and the security of this nation. If this was a dem president you would be screaming lock him up. I don't care if this was Trump, Clinton, Biden or Bush. These documents should never have been removed from the White House without being properly reviewed. If Trump had followed the proper procedures none of this would have happened.

So is your position that The President is subject to the bureaucratic procedures of an agency he controls? And that he has no authority to revise those procedures?

I'm the President of my company -- do I have to follow our procedures (most of which I wrote)?

The U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals wrote in a 2020 decision about whether statements made by then-President Trump declassified the existence of a CIA program that “declassification, even by the president, must follow established procedures.”

If a document is declassified, that doesn’t automatically mean it can be shared widely, either. For example, nuclear information – which is generally classified – is also protected by the federal Atomic Energy Act of 1954
