Hi Everyone,
I Joined the forum in August, just before we bought an immaculate 02' 510 DA. I started the
Official 510 DA Owners Group shortly thereafter after having several questions. This forum and the members have been fantastic. The advice we got when searching for the right boat to actually selecting our new baby was invaluable. We went from looking at only 460's around the country, to getting slammed in the face with the larger 510 we unexpectedly found right in our back yard. ZHOPKA was in beautiful shape with many awesome upgrades and not much to do. I am, however, doing a few things to make her unique to us. New Raymarine Super HD radar eSeries MFD's to replace the 2002 era electronics (Pathfinder, SR Navigator, A70) is one such project. I think we found a good balance of upgrading to completely respectable newer tech at a fair price without the huge brand new technology cost. Let me know if you need any help with this type of project. I'm well versed now.
Great tips, tricks and advice from those that have been "gotcha'd" are all available here. We're Chicago based and looking forward to getting back on the water for our first full season. Feel free to reach out with suggestions or just to say hello. We'll be at one of the Chicago area marina's. See you on the water.
