Hello,we are Mike and Jolie. I (Mikey-yeah I like it) will like ly do the majority of the posting but the wifey will likely post from time to time.
Anyways, on to business. We recently bought our first boat. After much research we bought a 92 200BR. We have both wanted a boat for many years and spent alot of time deliberating the "new or used" question. We finally decided to learn the ins and outs with a used boat with the intention of stepping up to maybe a 230 SD in a couple of years.
We found what we felt was a great boat in good condition and negotiated a fair price. It is a 92 200,4.3 V6,bucket seats, blue etc.(I will post pics in a day or two). Absolutely love it. We could not be happier with our decision.
Our first time out was a blast for about thirty minutes then-it happened. We had backed down to idle, stopped in a cove getting ready for some tubing. Out of nowhere the motor started to lope and then shut off. A quick inspection revealed the carb had a stuck needle(venturis were half full of fuel). let it sit for awhile, rapped on the float bowl a few times, opened the throttle 100% and got it lit off/made a run for the ramp. Found some rust in the fuel line from the pump to the carb, replaced the line, carb, pump filter and installed a water seperator. This didn't bother me,I expected to have some issues with a used boat. Now-it runs great. We took it to SML for a week and ran the snot out of it-never even hiccuped. Had it out in the ICW a couple of times,Lake Gaston etc. and its run perfect. Only issue right now is with the trim sender(s). I'll get that straight this week.
Anyways,I've been lurking here for a couple weeks and you know what? There are a lot of good people hanging on this forum. I(we) look forward to what the future holds with our "Ray" and to being members of such a fine forum. With that, have a good evening, day whatever and we'll talk to ya soon!
