Greetings, All

Regarding the front passenger seat next to the Captain's chair, the seat back has become weak. It pushes aft easily....unnaturally. Has anyone suffered this situation, and if yes, I'd sincerely welcome your feedback in advance. Happy boating...r/Mark

Is the seat back connected to the seat via brackets?
could be loose screws or or holes that the screws go into are stripped.

You might want to investigate further. On a similar vintage 370DA, once the port side passenger seat starts to "recline", it means the underlying wood seat base has seen a lot of weather and is rotting to the point that things are loosening up. Not saying that is the case but you might want to investigate. There are several posts about rebuilding the seat base with epoxy coated plywood or starboard. Usually the skins and cushions can be reused so when done you end up with a new seat assuming foam and vinyl are in good condition.

Bruce....No sir, the only visible hardware is the screws that secure the entire seat to the deck. I don't see an obvious avenue to deconstruct the seat base from the seat back. Once I figure this out, I hope to post findings for others. Sincerely appreciate your reply...r/Mark

Thank your, sir. Your logic is sound. 25 years will take its toll on most everything.....r/Mark
