Hull ID lookup

As some of you have been reading, I'm the new owner of what the broker (and the bill of sale) describes as a 1980 240 DA.

However, some internet sleuthing tells me I have a 245 Sundancer.

And looking at the brochures I found on .. some site or other .. my boat looks a whole lot more like a 1983 than a 1982.

Is there some way, from the hull ID, to tell what I actually have?

Now, I don't really care, as I like this boat a bit more every time I sit in her and nothing so innocuous as the year is going to change that. But I'm curious ...

The first 4 letters is the factory where it was made, the next numbers are the serial number, the next letter is the month it was made 1=jan,2=feb,3=march and so on then the last two numbers is the year of manufacture..

Close. The 494 at the end means its a 94 manufactured in 94.

Thanks! Sadly, this is where I got confused.

Using other information, my serial number suggests a 1982 boat, manufactured in 1982. However, using the links above, my boat looks a whole lot more like a 1983!

Doesn't really matter, I suppose.

Post your hull ID#, the one that is on the transom, not what is on your paperwork.

yes like stated above on the transom back starboard side usually will tell year of boat
