Planning to mount a Hurley tradition davit onto my platform on my 420AC. The platform is a one piece unit that is part of the hull so you can not access the bottom like the DA's. There is a locker opening on the platform to store bumpers and things and there is a liner mounted in this are with its own sump pump.
My plan is to cut one opening in the fiberglass tub...4" inspection hatch with o ring seal to hold the nuts from the mount. It needs 2 thru bolts per mount and I can get my arm into this area to handle both mounts (36" apart). The platform is cored so was planning to mount holes, then fill in with fiberglass resin and drill again to seal the coring. Hurley has no experience with this type of enclosed swim platform (hard to believe).
I have a 9'-6" inflatable with a soft bottom. Hoping to be able to leave my 5hp motor on the dink while cruising.
Any suggestions on approach?
Thanks,
Ed
