If I bother you...

I may 'argue' with some in the holding tank but for me what happens in the holding tank stays in the holding tank. Even though @Cdillerud and @Iprof are wrong, outside of the holding tank all is forgotten and we are all on the same team...lol
This^. The only way to get a feel for who I might be as a person is outside of the holding tank. I do like to make fun of those who do think they've pinned down my beliefs in the holding tank.

I come to this site for many reasons, mostly to help others if I can, and then to get help. The good folks on this site have taught me a ton; I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge, to teach me. And along the way enjoy some friendly dockside banter. When I am replying I try to picture myself in front of the person or sitting at the dock having dock talk, maybe over a beer or a cup of coffee, sometimes with a group of boating buds.

If my words and/or behavior bother you, please do not "air your dirty laundry" if you will, take passive aggressive jabs at me, in a public thread. You are not going to "teach me a lesson" from with a thread here. You are welcome to PM me. I will even share my phone # over PM if it's necessary.

You can also volunteer to be a moderator if you want to police my comments/threads. I have no issues with that at all. If I am the bad apple in this forum I will leave.

Communication in a public forum like this can be a challenge. Hell, face to face communication is a challenge sometimes :) Unless we have met (and I have met many of you in person), we really do not know the person on the other end, their intent, their motivation, what's going on in their life, etc. Please do not make assumptions, guesses, and then comment.

I am trying to practice Emotional Intelligence here and in all communications/relationships in my life. I trip and fall down, I try to get back up, apologize, and try harder the next time.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Thanks,

Greg
I worked on a railroad for 21 years, takes a lot to offend me. No worries here.

Some folks are insecure and have a very fragile ego coupled with no life outside of a message board. They inflate themselves by asserting their perceived superior knowledge along with abusive or insulting comments. How sad a life this must be to resort to internet name calling.

That's a lot of words to just say people are a$$holes on the internet.

It's the thinking they need to moderate and/or police others (in front of everyone else) I do not understand. Let it go, move on, who cares. Why does it bother you so much?

Or better yet, volunteer to be a moderator.

your fine with me. I enjoy some of your perspectives, offended or up by none.

I know what you mean though. I got hammered on a couple of years ago that I did not own a Sea Ray and I should quit posting. Kinda sucks when people take that kind of attitude.

I am still here and I hope you are also.

What! That beautiful boat I was on wasn’t a Sea Ray? Oh well! I still enjoyed the cocktails and the discussions…

;-)

Take it with a grain of salt and everybody pokes fun at everybody That's why everybody gets along so good and problems try to get resolved
Exactly, keep that salt shaker handy. A thread about feelings requires more than words...a gift for Mrs Robinson

And here I was initially thinking 'thin skinned mangina' but couldn't figure out how to make it work.

Really, Greg ought to know that everything he perceives as personal is NOT intended as such.
It's just that some folks have an overactive, twisted sense of humor that simply has to be shared with other similarly twisted folks (for some reason that eludes me, but there must be one).

My invite must have been lost in the mail...
Tim,
I had a nice visit with them and Carter Chapman and his wife in Ft Myers. Then walked to the downtown area and had a great dinner. Was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening meeting some CSR folks in person!
Reach out when you travel...
