Look at the sharp entry of the hull and the size of those props. Spend a million bucks on amenities and cosmetics and this would be one heck of a Great Lakes cruiser.

I'll take the blue one to the left just the same. I don't mind some work, but that may be a bit too much. Even paying people would take an eternity ...

'Have to agree with @SKybolt until I re-think the title. If money were no object, I'd hire a team to revamp the old girl, then it'd be my live-in. I'd start with doing the Great Loop, then running her through the Panama Canal. After that, who knows? Hawaii? Italy?

If money was no object, that wouldn't make MY list.... I'd likely own 3 or 4 boats along with a yacht. A little runabout, a center console, a go-fast and a big boat. The yacht would be at my southern (not sure if it would be in the US) home as would be a center console. My northern home (on the water) would have the others.

This would be northern home. It is for sale... $3.4 million

Spent 3 nights at MARINA JACK in Sarasota.

Was surrounded by yachts and ships.

Some really BIG, BEAUTIFUL STUFF !!!

These kind of vessels require a crew, some actually require a CAPTAIN

One was having the teak stairs redone - took 4 men and after 2 days they were still at it when we left.

walking along the dock, they made my lil 450DA look really, really small

The kind of recreational boating done by CSR members is quite different, based on our budgets and our hands-on skills.

Met a guy with a Sea Ray sedan bridge.

He's owned it for 20 years and has been on CSR "a few times"

Guess I'm an addict.

Anyway, those big boats are really nice, but all money concerns aside, at some point they will overwhelm a single owner with the amount of care needed just to service/maintain/clean/wax let alone operate.

And here I thought I was spoiled by having the boat docked behind the house and paying a guy to keep it waxed 4x year.

BEST !

Spend a day at the Charleston Mega Yacht dock, you will appreciate big boat wealth then. They have crews/captains that do everything. The owner will fly in, get on the boat, travel to the next destination, fly out, etc.

I do like my "small to me" boat and I no longer have boat envy like I did a few years ago. So, maybe I found the right one. I think with a much much much bigger boat I would still find things to fix, restore, improve, etc. The price point would be different though, or maybe not, who knows.

There are a couple of marinas on the east coast that I have been in that have significant huge boat presence, the megadock in Charleston and Southwest Harbor in Maine. Both of these docs have massive fueling capability, can easily pump 10,000 gallons for a mega yacht refueling. Lot of these boats transiting between north and south, this is where they are fueling. Talking to the crews in the fall, most of the docks leave Charleston and are headed to the Caribbean as their next stop.

A lifetime ago my brother was engaged to a girl from a family with "generational wealth". They had a 50ish meter Sunseeker they kept on the east coast of Florida. Had a full time captain and crew. The family did not concern themselves with mundane things like maintenance and cleaning. They just jumped into their plane and expected the boat to be ready. It always was. The captain had an open check book to keep the boat up and running properly.

That is an awesome set up. Little close to the neighbors but it would still work. Where is this home located?

"was engaged", and he left her, why? :)

I kept the 2 boats before my current one in a boatel. They did everything, literally. Even put gas and ice in them before I showed up. I could do my own work on the hard, not in the water. I did, nothing to it, paid them, for everything, except winterizing and washing it. And I LOVED it. Oh, I changed the oil once.

I missed the dock experience and wanted a bigger boat, thus the current one. I would gladly pay someone to take care of it for me though.

I bet, on a boat this size I would think they were in the realm of no budget. https://www.sunseeker.com/yachts-and-boats/previous-models/155-yacht

She got cold feet for a week and then realized the error in her ways. He said he couldn't trust her commitment after that. Biggest regret of my life. Especially considering the evil witch he is married to. My sister and I haven't talked to them or seen them since 2019 when my son got married. And our lake homes are less than a mile apart. My SIL has actively worked to separate him from the family.

I could pay to have everything done on my boat for me, I'm just not wired that way. But I do know when it's time to call the mechanic.

It's on the bay off Black Creek near Lake St Clair Metropark. Harrison Township MI. Virtually every waterfront home in Harrison Township is on top of each other.

My avatar picture is about a quarter mile from that house.
