Noticed lately that my depth reading is intermittent. It will work for several minutes, then it shows no reading, then it will read 30 feet (in 5 feet of water). Any ideas on where to start looking for the issue?

Mine “loses” the bottom occasionally, or gives an errant reading and occasionally doesn’t read correct in my slip…not sure why that is, works one I leave the slip.

They can be a little flaky, but about the only thing you can do is make sure the face of the transducer is clean, and the wires are tight on the back. There are 3 spade connectors on the back…make sure they are tight and clean.

This^^^

If it’s not too difficult, clean the transducer with some dish soap, and something non abrasive like a scrub daddy pad.

If the transducer is a P79 adjustable angle that looks like this, it sits in a well that is glued to the hull and filled with fluid (can be water, antifreeze, mineral oil). It it leaks out or gets low, then you will get no signal or intermittent signal.

Interesting. I will have to see and determine what transducer I have.
Thanks,
