Okay -

I have not spent that much time on this - but how do I get the ipod to work - in my car - I just plug in to the jack and hit the aux button. But I tried that in the boat and still no tunes. How does it work? I left the manuals on the boat. But - it said nothing.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,

I think Eddie will jump in here and verify, but I asked him the same question and he said all you needed was a mini to mini cable plugged into the auxilliary port and switch the input on the Clarion to AUX. I'll try and find the thread.

Mini to mini plug, one side to the headphone on the mp3 player, the other side to the mini plug jack for the stereo, flip to aux on the stereo. Hint, I did this one today myself and thought something was wrong. Make sure the volume is turned up on the mp3 player, and then the volume up on the stereo. The volume level needs to be set higher when using your mp3 player. I don't know why but that's how mine works.

It's a Clarion CMD4. In my BMW it works as you guys described. I am wondering if it is actually hooked up. I will retry next weekend.

On the CDM4 I think you can get to the AUX function by hitting the power button or there might be an AUX button. Also you need to set your input sensitivity. It can be High, Med, or Low.

Check page 14 of the file or 16 of the document.

Highly recommend getting an adapter that connects to the bottom of the IPOD as line out. You won't have 2 volume controls that way. (IPOD & stereo)

Good luck

It was wired up wrong - pulled the panel and they had it on the wrong input. I knew I wasn't crazy.

Thanks everyone.

happy you figured out the problem, sometimes you can talk a problem to death but sometimes you just have to get in there and figure it out, good job.

Hey - after my complaint - the service guys actually have IPOD's so they can test the connection.

I have the Clarion Sirius radio on my 340 DA. When I had it installed, I had them provide for a stereo jack input connector. I can plug the Ipod into that and listen to it via the AUX function. Works great!
