This was taken around 3 this afternoon. Bad west wind..Looks like all the boats survived. The docks did not do too well.

WOW!:wow:

Scary stufff. I would be too afraid of the electric in the water to do what you did. What if the power came back on? Am I being over precautious? I hope your boat was ok. Brian

I knew that the marina shut off power before the storm hit.. They knew the water would be up high... all the boats were ok.. Thanks

Wow, I'm glad we're no longer in Chadwick Island. I'm sure that John (Corona Del Mar) is happy thaat he left OBM last season.

Well, the good news is that most boats are fine.

It has been a while since I have been to OBM but as I remember the docks were pretty low so that's not so bad, or as bad as it could have been.

I am on the opposite side of the bay down a few miles south, and we had about 3-4 ft above normal, and it either just missed or just made it over the top of the bulkhead depending on the actual lot etc.

All said it could have been much worse by the coast, but thankfully we mostly got lucky except for a handful of people.

Did any of you guys in TR notice any serious tidal flooding? Green island?

I remember driving through various areas back in 92 during the really bad nor easter and found that many of the areas I was considering buying in were permanently off my list due to flooding.

Seems that throughout the area there are small sections that just flood much more than others, and though a few have some of the most beautiful views it has to be hard to deal with three feet of water in your yard or street, and impossible if it is in the house. Still some have been dealing with that for 50yrs or more.

Glad to see none of the boats had major damage!!

I'm at the end of TR and we had 3-4' above normal levels. The water didn't flood the lots but it was getting very close to the lot level. The 2nd wave of the storm with strong West wind helped moving a lot of water out. If that didn't happen we'd see a lot more water coming in as the first low tide (after the initial storm) didn't move much water out.

Looks like this marina didn't have much of a hurricane plan for slipholders. i.e., power cords laying on dock, docklines not tied high on the pilings, water hoses not stowed away, etc.

The water sunday afternoon got pilled up on that side of bay due to 60 mph wind out of west. At mantolking bridge there was 4 feet of water in winters at 11 am.

Wow John. I hope your boat was OK. I bought my first boat from OBM in 88 from Larry. We were in the Manasquan River Sun afternoon and it seemed the winds were worse then, than during the actual storm.

I heard Andy is still puttin around there, but nothing on Larry in while.

Anyone know if Larry is still around?

Larry Pollazito or something, if I remember correctly. Long time ago....Not there anymore? Last time I was there (2006) we were testing out a new Cruisers 300 model. I suppose you can tell how that went ;)

I could try and see if I have an old card, but I think it is Pollizato.

I know he moved on, and actually the only one I still know there is Andy. Have not been there is many years also, and likely a bit longer than you were lol.

If memory serves me right it was around 2000 when I had this idea that a used center console Scarab would be a great multi use boat. Too bad I did not make the jump since it was a nice clean used one and the price was not much more than most owners are asking today.

Last person I seen from there was a mechanic who at the time was running the Boat US tow boat that helped me back when my latest problem started. Getting to know those guys too well lately :)
