So back in the end of December I got called by a hiring firm for a per interview and testing for a maintenance job for a new company. This company is almost done building a facility in my area. The testing took 3.5 hours to take. Two months went by and I figured the I failed the testing.First of February I get a call and they wanted me to come in for a interview. The interview took three hours with three different people. This week they called me and I'm going in for another three hour interview. Its been a while since I've done interviews but so far so good.

Retired and have been living on my pension and working part time for throw away money for the last three years.I figured what the heck I'm 54 and my wife works. Winters are driving me crazy so I figured I might as well go do some thing I like to do. This job will not require me to do high voltage work just 480 volts and lower plus no more heavy industrial equipment. My goals are to wipe out some monthly dept get my wife a newer set of wheels save up some cash and get a bigger boat.I have a sweet spot for a 1990-92 270 DA.

Good luck with the future interviews. It would not be out of line for you to ask them some pertinent questions like:

1. Is this the end of the interview process or are there more steps to take?
2. How soon do you plan to hire someone for this position?

Thanks First Class for the input. They did say they plan on being up and running by mid summer .Cold storage is operational and they are storing and shipping product. They did say they have turned quit a few people away because of tobacco use.I figure drug testing and back ground check is next. This day and age of getting a job has got a lot more complicated and draw out.Heck I figure I'm a minority I'm middle age, white,no prior arrest that doesn't smoke and no DUI's. and have never filed for workers Compensation.

Sounds like a good gig! Companies are pretty selective these days. Some even contact all of your references, at least my last couple if jobs. Good luck!

I got retired (Very small pension) at 50. I went consulting six months later. Been at it since 2000. Stopped last April as things were slow. Companies are after old people as they know what to do and how to make things work.
Sounds like you fit into that area. Good luck.
Line from a country song "Sing like you don't need the money" I tend to say that the money is nice but working with good people on a good project is the most important thing.

My other, Karen decided to get away from the terrible management at her employer of 11 years. She has had a few interviews last week. They all seem to like the fact that she has 25 or so years experience but she has also told me she is older than everyone she sees in every office.
The company she interviewed with on Thursday sent her a project to see how she does with it. She has been working on it since I got home on Friday. The interview process these days is not what I remember it to be last time I was looking for work.
Good luck to you dvx216
