Well.. I made it to January at least :smt021

Did I tell you I hate winter yet? If not you should know that I do. :smt101

Unfortunately no... I'm just not sure how I could repair something like that. I just grabbed a tarp and covered the back seats for now. It's only going to get worse and worse! :smt100

Ouch is right! Clearly you are losing sleep over this at 2:00 AM :)

At least buy a really big blue tarp and cover the whole mess to keep snow and hopefully varmints out.

Why can't you take it to a local canvas guy? At this time of the year the turn around should be very quick. Couple hundred dollars a day or two and the problem is solved.

Exactly. Probably great service in January while they are slow. Take it off, cover with a tarp and get it repaired before it shreds completely.

Agreed, something like Gorilla Tape should get you through the winter.

Gorilla tape does absolutely nothing. Nothing sticks to the canvas. Now the problem is this cover weighs a ton and trying to get it off will only rip it more. So I'm just trying to think this through

Have a friend help you but get it off of the boat quickly before it is trashed and up repairable.

That cover is expensive so, worth saving.
A canvas shop will have no problem repairing it.
You could put the summer canvas up while your waiting for the repair.
When you reinstall the winter cover you'll need to have a better support system under it and secure all the belly straps under the boat to hold it tight.

Any material winter cover will fail if its not tight.

The cover is shot. The canvas is brittle as it is so it's not even worth saving. This was the last year I figured on using it but I guess my luck ran out.

I'm still not sure what I can do besides getting shrink wrap done. If the cover rips off completely I figure I could put the mooring cover on and hope for the best. Any thoughts on that?

Whats cheaper to do, replace the mooring cover potentially getting ripped up or shrinkwrap?

I am surprised it wouldnt be salvageable AT ALL. It doesnt need to be pretty, just strong enough to get you through the next 2 months. Have you shown the pics to a couple local canvas places?

Could you buy a snap tool and install a bunch of snaps using some jean material or whatever you have laying around to reinforce the material?

That stinks, if I had anytime this month I'd help you shrink it but, I'm traveling now and don't see a break till somewhere in February...and that's Miami boat show time..

If you end up installing the summer canvas for winter it will need some extra support to hold any snow load. 2X4s work well for this and tie them so they can't fall over in a windy storm.

I'm thinking "shrink" might be the best way to go..if the material is too far gone to accept a repair.

Just Shrinkwrap it & be done with it. Then you have all next season to come up with a replacement plan.
