Had no idea who or what that was, so I had to look it up! Were they towing the 35' "dingy"?? :D

There is a canvas guy at Belle Maer he has been there for years. I can’t remember the company name or the owners name. He was a good guy did an excellent job on my polycarbonate between the hardtop and windshield.
Unfortunately it’s crackling which I understand is common because of the coating…I just want him to replace it… does anyone know the owners name and is he still there ?

Just a rant but when you are in the buoys coming into a channel ie metro or Clinton river, why do dumb dumb like to cross your path right in between the ? I mean your 30 plus foot both will still float riding more than 25 yards off shore in st Clair good grief

It's interesting to hear some folks think that when they're crossing like that the 'no-wake' rule doesn't apply. But it does. They should be slowing down to no-wake speed while in between those buoys or anywhere in the channel shore-side from the furthest no-wake buoy marking the area.

But even most law enforcement out there do not understand the actual areas legally designated as "no-wake", so it shouldn't be surprising that many boaters don't either.
 
Speaking of no wake. I was on the Clinton River Saturday. I run at 900 rpm which gives me about 4.3 knots. I was passed by a number of boats bigger and smaller than mine. I ran up to Lambrecht Marina and u-turned there.

I think it’s a complete lack of navigational skills. As soon as folks are 5 yards out of the channel
It’s a beeline to their target. Most should use the bouts to navigate out of and then adjust course. But with the dumb dumbs plowing perpendicular through the bouts markers, I guess it makes sense to get the f out of the line lol
 
Maybe I'm not understanding the issue with the buoys and channels. I was thinking the issue was folks cutting perpendicular to the channel in between boats travelling in the channel. think that's inconsiderate when you can go around the end of the buoys, and it's a violation if you're doing it on plane (in a channel designated as 'no-wake'). I don't think it's an issue for a boat to enter or exit the channel in between any of the buoys, but they should also be doing at at 'no-wake' if the area is so designated.
 
Stopped at Roys for some fuel yesterday and pretty sure I saw @Great Lakes heading up the clinton river. While were getting fuel an old cruisers comes in and hits a 1.25 million dollar boat lands end has for sale. His anchor did a number on that black gel coat. :oops:

It’s only no-wake near shore where the no-wake buoys are. However, I agree and try to avoid driving through any channel besides Belle Mear
