Measure twice cut once refrigerator and freezer replacement

We ordered new Ref/Freezer. Went down the same standard door style (sub zero) that we have now. Matching Dometic Cruise 130/90.

Looking forward to having 12/24v/120v source since we try to enjoy long afternoon and cool nights without the genny purring.

Question - @ttmott did you tie into the Bow thruster battery bank for your Ref/Freezer at 12v/24v or did you tie into the main house batteries? I believe @Jeremy has the late model OEM set up and has said he can easily run them on the house batteries overnight without depleting those batteries too far.

I have the OEM set up for batteries (2) 8D’s for Starting and House and (2) 31D for the Bow Thruster.

Appreciate your experience with running on battery power and which banks.

Current set up…

We changed our mind and ordered two of the Vitrifrigo DRW180A IXD4-DF.

Thanks much @ttmott for blazing the trail and sharing great pictures and information. I followed most everything with your install. Also added the 12volt circuit to the main breaker panel. After a few day trips we can run about 4-5hrs off the Port 8D Battery before we get to 50%. That is with a number of other 12v systems running throughout that time period so we might be able to squeak out a bit more time if we managed better. The Cerbo Battery Shunts are great at providing the State of Charge %, Voltage, Remaining Time before your threshold Amphours are met.
