Skunk Baxter has always been given credit but I think it was someone else on the original release.Steely Dan- Reelin' in the years. Even Eric Clapton said he had wished he had written this.

Few thoughts here. I've seen Knopfler twice now. Might have to make it a third. I'm assuming he's playing Molson Canadian Amphitheater (Budweiser stage now)? Ok, nevermind, looked it up. Bummer, since that would have been a perfect venue, since the afterparty on Toronto Islands is always interesting. Anyway, I've seen him at Landmark Theater in Syracuse, and University of Buffalo. Both shows were amazing.
The intro to Money still literally gives me goosebumps when played on a good system. Brothers in Arms was remastered for the SACD format, and it's one of the few albums where I'll sit in the sweet spot of my theater system with a glass of scotch, and just listen front to back. Steely Dan's Gaucho is another.
Funny about Buckcherry. They're definitely a guilty pleasure of mine, in the same way that 80's hair bands are.

I saw a Steely Dan tribute band this summer and they were fantastic. Played every song I could think of even with help from my phone. LOL They were called Reely Dan...

We’ll probably make the run to Wilson from Rochester and stay a night then cross to Toronto. We’ll have to have a beer and put some music on!
Yeah, saw Steely Dan (sans Becker) last summer. Reelin' in the years was, of course, the encore. Great concert.Donald Fagan has figured out that the money in music these days is in touring. We saw Steely Dan twice in the last several years in Nashville.......the last time Walter Becker was still alive and was touring with them.
Try to see t hem if they are near.......they sound as good as they ever did.
Steely Dan, "My Old School". Listened to it many years ago while on my motorcycle.
Wow! I read through all these and almost every song I heard in my head. I'd have to say that Mark Knopfler tops my list on "Money for Nothing".
But...I'll just leave this here...
