Just got the current issue of the Waterway Guide e-newsletter. Interesting article about USACE (corp of engineers) ICW Survey process and results. If your not familiar with the data and you cruise on the ICW I would highly recommend looking into it.
I had a post a couple of years ago about my experiences - this article takes it even further.
When I first used the data several years ago I downloaded a binder of PDF files which showed the survey results - a page at a time. It showed the waterway and markers, but you had to use the pdf page while looking at a chart (or chart plotter) to understand the significance of the location.
Currently the app I use on my ipad has the survey information and automatically overlays the survey data.
This article has background on the process they follow which I found very interesting. They also use other sources to focus their survey locations and priorities. If you have spent much time on the ICW and used online resources much you probably have run into Bob423. For years he has been posting track files which you could download which showed a track for trouble spots. They list him as a source that has regular input into their survey location planning process.
