New Sunbrella does leak. It takes a few weeks for the sunbrella to gather dust and debris and plug the holes. Remember it’s canvas not fiberglass. I replaced mine a few years ago. Canvas Innovations in Holland Mi told me to give it a couple of weeks. They were correct. My canvas initially leaked. After a few weeks it was water tight.

As for attaching to arch: all it takes is a little more Kedder. It sounds like he doesn’t want to do it

I waterproof my Sunbrella with 303. Sheds water like a duck.

Do you have a thread on your canvas or can you post more picts? I'm in the process of deciding what to do with mine...Yours seems to have been fabricated to the arch in a similar way as mine...

I will be up at the boat later today or tomorrow and can post more pix. Our fabricator included a lot of minor details that really make a difference in the quality.
