Hello new owner of a 2004 280 with 496 and Bravo 3. And new to this whole thread & forum thing also. Came from a 2002 Crownline 202BR. We purchased this boat in October 2020. This whole winter thing in Illinois sucks!! But was able to at least enjoy the sea trial with the boat in October and since its been in storage at the marina I have been busy on my free time. Been working on it as much as possible. Had marina do the bellows and gimbal bearing only, figure why take the chance and just replace them now since they were a couple years old. I completely buffed and sealed from top to bottom. All new interior cabin lights. Replaced bulbs in the dual voltage light also. Replaced lights in the arch and by the helm area and by the rear sink. Changed the sink faucet outside also. Changed the anodes on the drive and repainted the drive when it was off. washed and resealed the camper canvas & bimini tops. Replaced all new screw studs for the covers. Wife had a new teak table made for the aft seating area. new anode for the genny and pump impeller. still need to do oil changes for engine, genny, outdrive. replaced the poop tank filter and little odds and ends here and there. I still have a list of things that I want to change.

Welcome aboard. Looks like you have been busy making the new boat ready to splash.

My advice for communicating on a discussion board is that you should break your postings up into paragraphs so it is easier to read. You will garner a better response as well.

Bring on spring!

Congrats on the boat purchase & welcome to CSR
SOunds like you've been busy making improvements and will enjoy some spring boating

Illinois River. Morris/Seneca area.
We spent two nights on the free wall in Joliet and the next day a few of us got into it with the lockmaster at Marseilles when he made us wait two hours for a tow that was "coming in any minute". It started pouring rain when he finally locked us through. We pulled into Heritage Harbor in the dark and we looked like a bunch of drowned rats.
Thinking back on it, I feel alot better about it now than I did then :) Memories.
You have a great boat for that area, Enjoy!

Welcome, fellow 280 owner.
Are you keeping yours in the water during the season or dry storing when not in use?
