Been lurking about this site for the last couple months. getting great ideas and finding out about the boat. Great info and people on here. Would not have considered this old of a boat except i know all of the past owners except the first. so i know all the history and such. Bought this boat in
September from a friend with some family health issues. I've been a boater all my life but 90 persent of the time on lake Huron in Michigan. Just day trips for fishing. a few years ago i purchased a 1995 Bayliner 2855 as my first real cabin style boat and found out about the real boating life. Its great and lots of new friends. Unique group and i love everyone of them. so anyway. Only had a few weeks on this boat before the winter haulout. But i love the space and the extra wide beam. Our first Trip was to Port Huron for an Antique Boat Show that a friend had a boat in. Great run down lake Huron. First Trip in to St Clair River. Real choppy and a lot of boats everywhere. Including large Freighters. Little nerve racking but lots of fun. Mind you this is my first boat with twins and also inboards. had no real clue what to expect as the only operator on board. but i did great. Looking forward to 2018 season. and the trips around that usually missed out on. I have lots of Winter project to do before spring. Like replacing the all the canvas. Really big job and lots of hours and trips to the boat for fits and patterning. really hated the no room at the helm thing these boats have going. New setup makes a really nice space and open feel now. New electronics (Simrad) and transducers as we like looking for lost shipwrecks. A friend found one nobody has seen before. and there is lots more out there to find. and A new A/C system, As this boat never had one before. So really busy. Sorry for this being so long. but lots to share.
