NMEA connections

Hi everybody. I read a great article about nmea connections here on Club Sea Ray a while back but I don't remember where exactly and I can't seem to find it. Does anyone recall the article or know where I might find it??

NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000? What is it you want to know?

The article was describing how to connect a GPS/Chartplotter to a VHF radio. In my case I'd like to connect my new VHF (ICOM-M422) to my old chartplotter - (Furuno GP-1600). The chartplotter is only 0183 compatable.

Another good source of NMEA 0183 information can be found in our Tech-Talk section, download our NMEA 0183 Information sheet to see connection diagrams, pro's and con's and simply put, everything we're allowed to give away without upsetting the NMEA.

At some point I'll do the same for NMEA 2000 and let you know when it's done.
