On the heels of my request for the "Relay for Life" (and Thank you by the way) and the Trip to the Great Wolf Lodge.
Anyway..Thursday afternoon while we were all down there my brother called. Our father hasn't been feeling well or acting normal for a few weeks. Really it's been since Christmas since he's been off. Anyway yesterday he was talking to a neighbor out front of my parent’s house and my Dad had a seizure and collapsed on the street of their cul-de-sac.
Friday morning I came back from the water park early. I left the Admiral and kids with my cousins and their kids to enjoy the rest of the day. Tests, waiting.....more tests.....waiting and so forth they have discovered some tumors in my Dad's brain, some other "abnormalities" in his lungs (he hasn't smoked for 40 years, he's 64 now) Anyway...it's a shock to the soul, but My brother and I have done well consulting with the Doctors and my brother has been fantastic taking care of our Mother when I wasn't there.
Right now I'm at work sorting and scheduling and will go back to the hospital in a little while to talk to the Nuerologist and Nuerosurgeon. It's time to dig the heals of optimism in for what really is surmounting as not good news.
Thanks for letting me vent/get this out. It's emotional for me, so sometimes writing it out is therapeutic.
