Whoops - wrong thread…pardon the interruption…
@leeron I have just started the exact same project a couple of days ago. Of course I stripped a screw head and didn’t have the tools with me to deal with that, so I need to go back to the boat to continue. Anyways…. If you are able to share the pics you got from @bjac that would be great. They no longer appear in his old post and I did try messaging him a few days ago to ask if he could share but I haven’t heard back yet. I’d also really like to see updates on your project and any tips you have along the way. I’m especially interested in seeing how you modify the bolsters.Yep, I'm cutting them down to make them smaller in order to make the bed bigger.
So far I've removed the bolsters, bought a 3" king size mattress topper, made a template of the berth area (the mattress topper will be bigger than the mattress), cut the mattress using the template, test fit the mattress on boat and trimmed to suit.
Next step is to cut the bolsters down and recover with new material. Also, there is foam and vinyl attached to the hull. I will remove that and replace. This is necessary because the bolsters will be smaller.
There is a very good write up in this thread from another member here: bjac, you should be able to find it. He sent me all his photos. I can send if you want.
I tried to add you to the conversation, check your inbox.@leeron I have just started the exact same project a couple of days ago. Got it, thanks perfect!I tried to add you to the conversation, check your inbox.
Thank You. Looking forward to some warmer weather and boating adventures.Congrats on your new boat, BTW.
Question, when you say cut down the bolsters do you mean length or height. I just got mine out on Sat and have them in my garage. I need to recover since they are original and now have some big stains from the leak
Are you recovering yourself or sending out? If you're doing it where do u source your material?
While removing the starboard bolster, the aluminum plate on top caught the edge of the laminate cabinet and pulled a 2x1 in chunk off, now I have to repair that as well. Must have been brittle from the cold here in NJ.
Congrats on your new boat, BTW.

I need the total height of the 320, bottom of keel to top of arch, for shipping purposes. Thanks.
My 05' 320 I resolved this exact situation and 100 percent Its the deck hatch...re bed your deck hatch. the water gets in the deck hatch and slowy dribbles in the ceiling and drips and pools to that corner and stains the speaker and bed area.So im still searching for the leak up in the corner by the speaker that started this whole process. I went down on Sat caulkin hand and applied where I think issues may be, rubrail mostly and hatch screws. I looked in anchor locker and I think i see part of the path the water is taking. It runs down the starboard side of locker at the very top, and goes down behind the bulkhead board in there separating the locker from Vberth. But where is the source, from that angle, it could be the hatch but why wouldnt it be dripping on the bed. Its not the cleat, thats dry.
Similar question - on my ‘05 320 I noticed a couple of drips from one of the two round ceiling windows. I figure I will reseal them. What is the suggested material to use for this? Also any tips on how to do it?My 05' 320 I resolved this exact situation and 100 percent Its the deck hatch...re bed your deck hatch. the water gets in the deck hatch and slowy dribbles in the ceiling and drips and pools to that corner and stains the speaker and bed area.
Had it happen to me, woke up thought I was sweating but it rained that night and my hatch was leaking. Pop the screws out, remove hatch, scrape hatch and deck clean and use I 3M 4500 to re seal.Similar question - on my ‘05 320 I noticed a couple of drips from one of the two round ceiling windows. Make sure it is the round windows. I started having drips from what I thought was the starboard round window, since it was coming from there. I removed the molding around window and was able to get a better look. It was actually coming from where the sun pad railing on the top deck attaches to deck. Thanks for the feedback @MJD, too bad about the fridge - that sucks. Can I ask how in-depth did you get with resealing those round windows? Did you totally remove them, or did you just dig out the sealant that was there (from above) and reseal it with the 3M 4200? I assume there is probably around 1/2" or so of sealant up top?
Good tip @Kbratko, I will check for that first. When you say you removed the molding, I assume you meant from inside? How did you do that? There are what appear to be a couple of small screw covers in the vinyl ring in the ceiling around the windows, is that actually what they are? Do they pry off to reveal screws, or is there something else involved?Make sure it is the round windows.
