So, my day was fun.
Janet and I did our pre-cruise shopping and headed to the boat. We got stuff at the usual stores and got to the dock and put it all away. I took down the sides. I cleaned the clear as I went.
Last up were the windshield pieces. As I stepped over the two pieces to grab another towel to put down to roll them up, I caught my foot on the edge. I stepped awkwardly and blew my right knee which already is missing the patella.
I went down and smacked my forehead on the stainless rail around the sink on our 370. Now complete with requisite red fluid streaming down my face, I ended up laying between the sink/seat on the port side and the helm seat. Yes, pretty much out.
Locked knee, concussion and a pretty much freaked out Janet, our dock neighbours called an ambulance. These ambulance and fire guys are amazing and they got me out.
We've since found out our neighbour Ken grabbed Club Soda and cleaned the carpet once we left. They closed our boat up for us, locked it and made sure all is good.
I sit here tonight with 6 stitches, a mild concussion and a messed up knee with an ice pack. I'm glad and thankful I'm not in surgery and that I have great family and boating friends.
The moral here: you can never be too careful. This all happened right inside the boat! And ya, I feel pretty dumb!
