Opening Day of Boating Season

This Saturday the Seattle Area has the "Opening Day of Boating Season ceremony including a floating parade of boat and yacht clubs and crew races.

Does this happen anywhere else?

Yes in that picture you'll see Husky Stadium in the background.

If you get SeaRay Living magazine they have a feature in it about boating to sporting events and Husky Stadium is in there. September Husky home games have a ton of boats out there.
Most have to anchor, but the UofW will shuttle you in for $5

Todd - gorgeous pictures, as always!

My daughter is a UW student and member of the illustrious Husky Marching Band. Tomorrow on Opening Day a bunch of band members will be split up onto about 3-5 of the big lead boats in the Parade and they get to play Husky band songs as the boat members and crew all stand at attention and salute the Admiral of the Parade as they go down the Montlake Cut in front of the crowds. They will eventually end up back to the Seattle Yacht Club where they will be fed in high style and will serenade a bunch of alumni.

It is so awesome - what a fun time!!

Opening Day!

Being your "southern neighbor" down in Portland, we have our opening day tomorrow as well! This will be my first time out so I'm not sure what will happen but can post pictures if you all would like to see what opening day in the Northwest means....We are expecting temps in the low 70's and SUNNY! YEA!

Have a blast. I have t-ball and a Birthday party....so it will be my first year in maybe ten years we haven't gone out.
