Please revisit this stalling with me.

2001 310 Sundancer w/2011 5.7 mercruiser horizons.

It has been very, very difficult to find a mechanic to come out to the boat and scan. Long story but I've been trying to get the scan done throughout the many posts.

With that said, I really appreciate your patience and help.

-The engine runs great when started.
-Runs for several minutes and then fades to a stall.
-Will restart but then the same thing happens.

I suspect the engine starts and runs on the gas from from prime and then dies.

Questions:

1)Is that possible?
2)What would be the first thing(s)to check?(guessing filter).

Any and all thoughts appreciated!

If it was my 7.4 horizons, I would be checking fuel pressure at the rail, pre start til the stall, then when trying to restart

If the pressure is low then check filter, then pumps?

If it’s low, I would be betting on the fuel pump. But there are way smarter people than me on this site, which will chime in (hopefully) should be able to get a loaner pressure gauge from auto parts store.

Check the coil, make sure it's not sparking and shorting out.

I replaced the coil and ICM combo and it still does the same thing. Strange side note: The new icm is giving me a 2 beeps a min alarm the old one doesn't.

Have you checked for any fault codes?
