Hi I’ve just purchased a 2008 DA38 & the power vent unit in the toilet & galley is not working. The breakers are good and I’m guessing the motor is fried. Where is the motor located. My guess is it’s behind the medicine cabinet in the toilet? Anyone else can confirm this before I take it apart would be greatly appreciated!

On.my 440 CV ,it is behind the mirror on the port side of the head above the sink and the "under console" that houses the dc and ac light switches, the power vent switch, and head system indicators/dump keyswitch. It is screwed to the wall. Just a 3" bilge blower with flex duct. Had to lube the sqeaky bearings recently.

Good luck.

Mine is behind the vanity and will require removing the vanity to get to it...a major PIA. Open the window for now...The Admiral uses the master toilet anyway and I use the guest, so we are good for now...

Thank you for that! I noticed there is a hatch at the back of the vanity cabinet where the breaker is. It looks pretty simple to get the panel off! I’ll let you know as the blower is on the way to me as we speak. I just hate stuff that doesn’t work

The fuse is next to your switch. It looks like a blank switch but it is a cover over the fuse.

You bought a new one without trouble shooting?
Yes I did. I usually find that 99% of the time the reason for the fuse blowing is a faulty unit. So I order it immediately and if upon discovering I’m wrong I send it back for a refund & that way I don’t end up waiting for a spare to arrive. I am yet to return anything lol. If the fuse blows it’s a crapped out unit that’s faulty. Sea air destroys everything!

it was probably left on for too long. This are not continuous running designed blowers.

Too many people use them to keep the cabin fresh and run them continuously even when not on board. You are right in saying they are not designed for that purpose! It’s going to be such a pain getting the blower out !

It’s not bad, the microwave has some screws from underneath holding the wood panel that the bottom of the microwave is mounted to. Then you lift and slide the microwave out. The. You will see the blower right there
