I have been replacing the anodes in my QSM11 trans and fuel coolers with 2" long pencils, as the PO had been. I just noticed that a couple of the on-line suppliers of anodes sell a QSM11 package that have 1" long anodes in them. I can't seem to find the recommendation from Cummins specifically.
To show my ignorance on the subject, the anodes I remove are almost always impacted on the bottom inch and slight impact on the top end (fitting end). It seems the 1" would not see much action.
Does anyone know the downside of having a 2" long pencil anode in the Fuel and Trans coolers? Right or wrong, they've been working well.
Thank you
