Hi Guys,
I have a buyer getting my boat surveyed Wednesday in a rather poor forecast. I'm guessing his moisture readings on the deck will be moot but, was wondering what else to expect. I was under the impression that compression tests were to be done cold but, here is the response the buyer got from his surveyor:
"Compression tests are done when the engine is warm. Haul first. Then seatrial. Systems and compression test last."
Does that seem to be the normal sequence of events? I've never had a survey done so pardon my lack of knowledge here. Thanks for any info you can provide.

I'm in process of buying boat and getting survey first with them doing oil samples for both engines, transmissions and generator. Then mechanic will do compresion tests with warm engine and leak down test on both motors and gen and if all check out I will do sea trail.

Not sure if normal, but when mine was surveyed, this was the exact sequence of events. Good luck!

Thanks guys. Idk why the other guy was gonna do the compression test cold. So it sounds like this is the normal sequence of events! I appreciate the feedback. Oh, and the surveyor canceled for tomorrow due to weather. Rescheduled for next week. Hope weather is better!
